Climate and Landscape in Turkey
The climate and landscape in Turkey is extremely diverse as it bridges two continents, Europe and Asia. Vast areas of the country are covered by mountains and these mountain ranges border the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts. The temperature range is extreme and can be -30C in winter in the central region, and a very scorching 40C near the Syrian border. Most foreigners however tend to live or holiday in the Mediterranean and Aegean coast where the climate is much more agreeable, where the temperature tends to hot and sunny in the summer reaching mid thirties, whilst mild during winter – this is generally the best region to buy property in Turkey.
Much of the Mediterranean and Aegean areas are unspoilt and covered in pine trees, with many olive groves and citrus orchards. Turkey’s most wonderful beaches can be found along the Mediterranean coast, whilst the Bodrum region benefits from a number of peninsulas and deep bays making stunning views and idyllic for sailing, making villas for sale in Bodrum another appealing choice for investors. The Aegean has long stretches of beaches, however it is a little further north and the season is a little shorter than the Mediterranean coast.
