Cost of Living in Turkey

The cost of living in Turkey is considerably less than in the UK and other Mediterranean countries such as, Spain, Greece and Cyprus. Locally grown fresh produce is a fraction of the price that we are used to and food is generally much cheaper. A typical weekly shopping bill for two is in the region of £50. There is a difference in living costs across this vast country with the major cities such as Istanbul being the most expensive, an important factor to consider if you wish to buy property in Turkey - however even here the cost of dining out in a good restaurant is still significantly cheaper than the UK. Some things however are more expensive and in particular petrol, mobile phones and internet connections.
