Services and Utilities in Turkey

Whilst the tap water is chlorinated most people tend to purchase drinking water from local shops and supermarkets, or you can purchase it from a local water supplier who will deliver it to you.

The state run company TEDAS supply the electricity in Turkey, and whilst it is straight forward to get connected, the demand is growing so rapidly that the network is somewhat strained in some areas resulting in regular cuts in service.

The major cities such as Istanbul and Ankara have mains supplied natural gas, however outside of the major cities it is widely available in canisters delivered by local suppliers. These are important factors to consider when deciding where to buy property in Turkey.
