Where to Invest in Turkey

There are two very distinct property markets in Turkey. There is the holiday home market which is currently booming and attracting large investment from foreign investors and in particular UK and Ireland. The main areas to currently invest are Bodrum and Western Mediterranean, including Fethiye, Calis, Gocek and Oludeniz. These areas are attracting large scale investment due to the wonderful climate, stunning beaches and scenery, with pricing that is much lower than other comparable countries. The other major property market is the major cities of which Istanbul is by far the largest and most interesting. Istanbul has a particular appeal for both local and foreign investors, due to the huge demand for property from its ever increasing population. With 12 million residents this market already has a vast shortage of housing and the number of new residents each year is increasing by 700,000. This shortage is reflected in the significant rises in property prices and the large domestic requirement for rental property. Istanbul therefore offers an outstanding investment opportunity.

As well as these two major markets there will be unique one off projects that have a particular appeal or target audience. Such projects that could fall into this category could be International Golf Course developments or yachting and marina developments.

An example of which is a new International golf resort project at Kusadasi. This is Turkey’s first golf residential development with a selection of high quality property. This is a luxury project including, Tennis Centre, aqua park, beauty therapy, shopping centre, cinema, restaurants and cafes and is close to Kusadasi marina which is the largest marina in Turkey.
